Lincoln Highway weekend events

Here are a few events to enjoy along the Lincoln Highway this weekend.

The 4th Annual Iowa Lincoln Highway Motor Tour runs for three days, starting tomorrow.

One of the stops the tour is making will be at the Pioneer Days festival in Le Grand, Iowa on Saturday.

On Saturday, two classic Ford car clubs are taking tours of Noble County, Indiana, through which the Lincoln Highway passes.

On Saturday and Sunday, more than 300 quilts will be displayed at the Heart of the Lincoln Highway Quilt Show in Jefferson, Iowa.

On Sunday, the Second Annual Lincoln Highway Car Show will take place in Matteson, Illinois.

The Illinois communities of Geneva, St. Charles and Maple Park have welcomed the public art being installed by the Illinois Lincoln Highway Coalition as part of its Interpretive Mural Project.

DeKalb, IL celebrates first phase of revitalized downtown

Re:New DeKalb celebrated the first phase of its revitalization efforts of downtown DeKalb, Illinois. This included improvements to the streetscape of the Lincoln Highway and other downtown streets. Next, a downtown parking lot will be improved, including decorative lighting fixtures made from previously salvaged light poles removed from the Lincoln Highway.

2011 Lincoln Highway Buy-Way Yard Sale: August 4-6

The sixth annual Lincoln Highway Buy-Way, a yard sale that stretches across hundreds of miles, will be held from Thursday, August 4 to Saturday, August 6.
