A new section of the East Coast Greenway has opened between Newark and Jersey City along the Lincoln Highway Bridge in New Jersey. It allows bicyclists and pedestrians to safely travel between the state’s two largest cities.
For the sixth year, the Jersey City Police Department held a ceremony to remember police officers Shawn Carson and Robert Nguyen, who died on Christmas night 2005 in a tragic accident on the Lincoln Highway Bridge, which was renamed in their honor.

The Jersey City Police Department held a minute of silence in honor of police officers Robert Nguyen and Shawn Carson, who died in 2005 when they drove off the Lincoln Highway Bridge when the center section was raised. The bridge was renamed after the officers in 2007.
