Saturdays at noon is a very busy time for them. They will reserve a table for 20 in the back room. However, others may have to share the other tables in that room. There is plenty of parking all around the building.
They serve breakfast all day with a cost of about $7. Sandwiches run from $8 to $10.
The historic significance of the place is that we have been telling folks for years that this corner is where Lincoln Highway marker post #2369 once stood. I’m not so sure about that now, but, for sure, this is on the Lincoln Highway.
Joanne Pelz is the program, which will be about Lincoln Highway Volkswalks. She has a mini Lincoln Highway Volkswalk planned for us beginning at 2nd and B. This program is in keeping with our effort to acquaint a wider range of people with the Lincoln Highway.
John Putch’s film "Route 30", which was screened in Gettysburg on September 27, will premiere in York on October 3.
The Lincoln Highway is one of the routes recommended by Pennsylvania’s visitor’s bureau for viewing fall foliage in western Pennsylvania.
Ted Butler is walking from Santa Monica, California to the World Trade Center site in New York City to "try and get people more aware of the stimulus that affects us and the decisions we make." His journey took him through DeKalb, Illinois along the Lincoln Highway.
Historic New Carlisle is teaming up with the Indiana Lincoln Highway Association to celebrate the original route of the Lincoln Highway through New Carlisle on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The 2008 Destination Filmfest is looking for amateur teams to write, shoot and edit a 5-to-7-minute film in a week using historic Lincoln Highway as the setting. Team preregistrations must be mailed in by Oct. 3.
The Youngville Cafe in Watkins, Iowa, a revived Lincoln Highway business, celebrated Youngville’s Apple Daze with pie, music, and Model A’s.
Al Forte of Brooklyn, NY is walking from Yankee Stadium to Wrigley Field in Chicago for his “Pray for Peace” campaign, handing out small prayer cards with a picture of soldiers praying together. His walk took him along the Lincoln Highway in Lima, Ohio.
The Lincoln Highway Arts Festival took place on September 27 in Mount Vernon, Iowa. It featured 32 artists from across Iowa working in a wide range of media.
