  • Chapter historian Gary Kinst will give a presentation on the Lincoln Highway alignment from Sacramento to Verdi, Nevada via Truckee.
  • If time permits, we will tour several remaining sections of original pavement in Loomis.

1930s gas station in Pennsylvania demolished

A gas station built in the 1930s in Ligonier, Pennsylvania was demolished, but not before its owner, the Lincoln Highway Heritage Corridor, salvaged historically significant portions of the building. The organization will use those pieces to reconstruct a front facade of the station at its museum.

Educating students about the Lincoln Highway

Ronnie O’Brien, Nebraska state director of the LHA and Director of Cultural Education at the Great Platte River Road Archway, is traveling across Nebraska to bring the Lincoln Highway to life to students throughout the state.

The Repository of Canton, Ohio has a photo gallery of the reconstruction of the Lincoln Highway/State Route 172 bridge over railroad tracks in Canton Township, Ohio. The bridge is scheduled to reopen in December 2012.
