2015 Lincoln Highway Henry B. Joy Tour. Leaving Detroit on June 27. Arriving in San Francisco on July 8.

Join us for another fabulous road trip on our favorite road! The 2015 Lincoln Highway Henry B. Joy Tour will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Henry B. Joy’s tour from Detroit to the 1915 Panama–Pacific Exhibition in San Francisco.

The 2015 Tour will depart the Packard Proving Grounds north of Detroit, Michigan on Saturday, June 27 and take 12 days to travel 2,836 miles across America, arriving at the Lincoln Highway Western Terminus in San Francisco, California on Wednesday, July 8.

Henry B. Joy was the first president of the Lincoln Highway Association and a major driving force in the success of the highway. Joy was also president of the Packard Motor Car Company. He supplied the LHA with official Lincoln Highway Packards, which were used extensively by the association on cross-country tours and reconnaissance work.

The Lincoln Highway Association is pleased to have both the Packard Club (Packard Automobile Classics) and the Packards International Motor Car Club participating on the planning of our 2015 Lincoln Highway Henry B. Joy Tour.

As with all Lincoln Highway Association tours, all vehicles are welcome on the 2015 Tour: antique cars, classic cars, muscle cars, street rods, trucks, motorcycles, campers, rental cars, modern cars, domestic and foreign — all makes, models and years. Our one requirement is that your vehicle is capable of maintaining legal highway speeds. We will travel about 250 miles per day to permit time to stop for tourist attractions and allow our older tour cars to keep pace.

Unlike the 2013 Lincoln Highway Centennial Tour, which included many miles of gravel roads, the 2015 Lincoln Highway Henry B. Joy Tour will be entirely on paved roads. We will travel Lincoln Highway alignments covering many miles of two-lane history and four-lane progress, enjoying the scenic grandeur of the United States of America — urban centers, small towns, pastoral farmlands, rolling prairies and breathtaking mountains.

Discounted hotel rates and automated booking services (password protected page — see FAQ page) are provided by Holiday Inn, the official Lincoln Highway hotel sponsor.

Discounted vehicle shipping will be arranged for those who wish to ship cars to Detroit for the beginning of the tour and to home after the tour. You can directly contact Passport Transport, the official carrier of the Henry B. Joy Tour. Call John Scharff toll free at (800) 325-4267 or email him at johns@passporttransport.com.

Certainly this will be yet another memorable event on the Lincoln Highway. Happy Trails!
