January 12, 2002: LHA California Chapter Meeting

Northminster Church
3235 Pope Ave.
Northeast Sacramento

From I-80 or Business I-80, take Watt Ave south for about 1 mile. Turn right on Pope Ave. It is 1½ blocks to Church, which is on the right.

1:30 PM for a potluck lunch. Bring your favorite hot dish or salad and the Chapter will furnish drink and dessert.

Our guest speaker will be Shirley Rowe. Her grandfather kept a diary on his travels to the Pan Pacific Exposition in 1915. Come share this history lesson with our members and guests.

January 19, 2002: West Sacramento dedication of Lincoln Highway replica concrete markers

West end of Tower Bridge at 11 AM. The Historical Society has purchased four of these markers to be placed at original locations in West Sacramento. Another will be dedicated in the spring at the Yolo Causeway bicycle trail. Date to be announced later.

National Conference Update

Our chapter will be Hosting the National Conference in 6 months. Lots of help is needed now. We will be at the Holiday Inn Northeast from June 11-15, 2002.

Displays/Book Room: James Armstrong
East Tour: Jack and Cleona Duncan
West Tour: Norman Root and George Clark
Indoor Programs: Mary Salazar
